Grant Matching AI Agent
An AI agent that finds relevant grant opportunities, matches them to client needs, and helps draft stronger applications without the endless searching.

About the project
An AI-powered grant-matching and application-support system developed for a nonprofit consulting business. The platform helps review grant opportunities, compare them against client requirements, and identify which options are most relevant before the consulting team invests time preparing an application.
The agent also assists with creating early application drafts using the available grant information and client context. Rather than replacing the consultant’s judgment, the system removes much of the repetitive searching, sorting, and initial writing involved in the process. This allows the team to spend more time reviewing eligibility, strengthening the application strategy, and preparing accurate final submissions for its clients.

Exploration
The completed workflow helps the team move from opportunity discovery to an initial application draft with fewer repetitive steps. Consultants spend less time searching and more time strengthening strategy, evidence, and final submissions.
Creation
We studied how grant opportunities were found, filtered, compared, and assigned to clients. The biggest challenge was reducing research time without losing the judgment required to determine whether an opportunity genuinely fit.
Implementation
The completed workflow helps the team move from opportunity discovery to an initial application draft with fewer repetitive steps. Consultants spend less time searching and more time strengthening strategy, evidence, and final submissions.

Investigation
We examined weak matches, incomplete opportunity details, and situations where eligibility language could be interpreted differently. These cases informed clearer matching criteria and ensured uncertain opportunities stayed visible for human review.
Execution
The completed workflow helps the team move from opportunity discovery to an initial application draft with fewer repetitive steps. Consultants spend less time searching and more time strengthening strategy, evidence, and final submissions.

Inquiry
The project started with one question: could AI reduce the hours spent finding suitable grants without recommending irrelevant opportunities? That question shaped the matching logic, workflow design, and need for human oversight.
Research
We reviewed grant discovery patterns, eligibility structures, application requirements, and AI-assisted drafting methods. The research supported a practical system that speeds up preparation while keeping the consultant responsible for accuracy and fit.
